About the Project

Since Michael Glaspie, the stadium’s namesake, served on the Arlington ISD Board of Trustees in 1991, the district has recognized the need for a larger facility to host major games and events for the local high schools. As part of the Bond 2019 initiative, the $34 million renovation and revamp of Michael Glaspie Field Athletic Complex will feature a 10,000-seat stadium, a state-of-the-art press box, and fully equipped locker rooms, for Martin and Seguin High Schools. Sizelove Construction, the concrete subcontractor, partnered with VoidForm to mitigate the structural risks posed by the site’s challenging soil conditions.

What We Did

Arlington may be famous for the Dallas Cowboys, but with the Michael Glaspie Complex nearing completion, students at Martin and Seguin High Schools will soon enjoy a facility that puts them in a league of their own.

The project’s primary challenge wasn’t the upgrades themselves—it was managing construction around the high schools’ busy academic and varsity sports schedules. Thanks to VoidForm’s long-standing professional relationship with the project’s concrete subcontractor, Sizelove Construction, VoidForm’s extensive logistics network, and our Texas-based manufacturing facilities, timely delivery of SureVoid® products helped minimize schedule disruptions and keep concrete timelines on track.

Throughout the project, Sizelove Construction installed:

  • 4,000+ square feet of SureRetainer®
  • 4,000+ square feet of SureCover® Board
  • ~2,000 linear feet of TrenchVoid®, supporting beams up to nine feet tall

As the stadium work neared completion, the VoidForm team had the opportunity to visit the Michael Glaspie Field Athletic Complex alongside Mike Yates, Director of Construction & Administration, and DSC Architects out of Redwood, Tennessee.
